Day 10- I am a LEADER and not a FOLLOWER.
Most often bullies are looking for attention and seeking the acceptance of the crowd. Their behaviors are rewarded when bystanders cheer them on to cause harm to others. Even laughing at the person being bullied is a reinforcement that the negative behavior is okay. As parents we can teach our children to be leaders instead of followers especially when it involves bullying. Simple discussions about empathy and sympathy for others allows them to understand how it would feel if they were on the receiving end of the bullying. If we stop encouraging rudeness and the ugliness of others we are doing our part as a community in erasing bullying around us.
According to simplereminders.com there are challenges to being a leader. A leader is strong, but not rude. A leader is kind, but not weak. A leader is bold, but does not BULLY. A leader is thoughtful and not lazy. A leader is HUMBLE, but not timid.
A leader is PROUD, but not arrogant. A leader is HUMOROUS, but without folly.
A LEADER steps up in times of crisis, especially when they witness bullying of other and is able to think and act creatively in a difficult situation.
When you see someone being BULLIED are you a LEADER or a follower.....
I AM A LEADER what about you......
